Bio of the Owner

Melody A. Robinson is the CEO and founder of Parent’s Helper Daycare, formerly known as, Parent’s Helper Home Daycare and Academy. This facility is located at 1212 N. Austin Blvd. in Oak Park Illinois. She serves as a family childcare advisory board member for the Erikson Institute Town Square.

In addition, Melody holds memberships with the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC),  Support Providers Network Association (SPNA), National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC), West Suburban Home Day Care Association Inc. (WSHDCA Inc.), National Association of Professional Women, the Oak Park Providers Round Table Collaboration, and the Excel-e-Rate Silver Quality of Rating. She holds credentials from the Illinois Gateway to Opportunity Professional Development System in Family Child Care, Infant/Toddler, School-Age, Center Director, and Early Childhood Education. She is Nationally Accredited by Nature Explore and the National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC), which recognizes high-quality Early Childhood Programs across the Nation.

She received her B.A. in Early Childhood Education and Psychology from National Louis University and holds a State Illinois type 04 Teacher Certification. Melody has 37 years of experience educating and supporting children and families and is passionate about mentoring and establishing network supports for new and existing child care professionals.

Parent’s Helper Daycare is a Reggio Emilia inspired learning environment which  views children as competent, having rights and able to construct their own learning through (One Hundred Languages) many ways of self-expression. We stimulate children’s interest with the help of our nature based and child-led curriculum, which set the stage for learning objectives that impact their lives. Our learning approaches address specific goals and objectives in the cognitive, speech, and language, social-emotional, and gross and fine motor domains of child development.
